When I was a teenager, I was on my way home in a vw thing from my girlfriend's (My current wife's) house. This was back in '79 or so.
It had been raining, was absolutely dark, at about 11:00p.m. at night. I was on Frost Hollow in Tioga County New York. Frost Hollow was a dirt back road, all heavily wooded with no houses and extremely curvy.
I was going 50mph about the distance of 40 yards from a SHARP corner.
Then all of a sudden FLASH!!!!!!!!!!
BLINDING WHITE LIGHT SO BRIGHT I COULDN'T SEE OUT ANY WINDOWS!!!!!!!
JUST A CONSTANT EYE HURTING GLOW SO BRIGHT I ALMOST COULDN'T SEE THE WINDSHIELD PILLARS.
I did the usual what a driver would do....... I waited and held the car steady waiting for the light to end........
BUT IT DIDN'T!
At the same time the windshield wipers were screaming back and forth so fast with an ear chilling wine that they were INVISIBLE!
I looked around the car and noticed the car was bouncing steadily, engine the same pitch I appeared to be still going 55mph.
I had been awed by the effect that it was about 2 min before I realized I SHOULD HAVE CRASHED A MINUTE AND A HALF AGO!
for I had been 30 yards from a heavily wooded corner doing 55mph.
I was SO stunned I didn't change anything.
After about 2 1/2 minutes BLINK! IT WAS GONE!
I WAS STILL 30 YARDS AWAY FROM THE HEAVILY WOODED CORNER WHERE I HAD BEEN WHEN IT ALL STARTED!!!!!!
If my mind had sped up, the windshield wipers would have appeared to stop - not speed up.
A Lightning strike charge could have explained the wipers, but not the space / time discrepancy of driving straight for 2 1/2 minutes but ending back at the same place where it all started!
I DROVE FOR 2 1/2 MINUTES SOME WHERES AND ENDED BACK WHERE IT STARTED!!!!
The only explanation I have been able to come up with all these years is that a lightning strike created a wormhole in time and space as was RUMORED to happen with 2 tesla coils (The Philidelphia Experiment - they made a movie about a similar experiment)
There have been other reports of others driving into the fog and two minutes later emerging 100 miles away from where they started.
I believe it's the same principle. but this was one of my nudges to seek the Paranormal to try to explain it.
